Time for some island action just of the coast of Perth. This place is actually named Rotnest (meaning rat's nest) Island by the first Dutch explorer to discover it, he obviously didn't like the cute furry little quoka dudes that inhabit the place but seeing as the name seemed a bit undeserved travelling vini has re-christened it...

Ranj and I hire some bikes and snorkelling gear to probe the place...

First Quaka spotted, and not having any predators on the island for a few millennium they really don't give a rat's ass about you being right next to them...

The aussies are still a bit sensitive about the fact that we didn't give them any help in World War II, it's a little known fact that apparently Britain had nearly all it's subs secretly stationed here where they could do the most damage to the enemy...

The bays on the island were gorgeous, even saw kids playing with stingrays right by the shore...

Turns out around the same time we were here some gits killed about 10 of the quokas, makes you wander how long the quokas will remain so friendly with us...
